Captain Ratix is a pink eyed white who Sheila gave us following a request we put online to try to find albino rats to add to Joanne's line. Due to a difficult start (he had to be fostered into an older litter and struggled to compete) he's a little lad who has lost most of his tail. Joanne decided upon his name in view of his stumpy tail and a scar under his chin - she felt he looked like a pirate! Ratix is an extremely pleasant young man, very friendly and although wary at first soon settled with Mr Rainbow and they are now firm friends.
As Ratix aged he became increasingly hormonal with Mr Rainbow, and was constantly on the prowl for a doe. We decided to castrate him in view of the fact that he seemed totally frustrated with his lot in life.
He is now very much calmer and has settled happily with Mr Rainbow, Bailey, Poltergeist and Doppelganger.
